Missing a tooth — or facing the loss of several? Dental implants are the closest thing modern dentistry has to getting your natural teeth back. They look, feel, and function like real teeth, and with proper care they can last decades.
At Paris Dental in Temecula, Dr. Noorullah Azim walks every implant patient through the same clear six-step process. Here is exactly what to expect.
Step 1: Consultation and 3D Imaging
Everything starts with a thorough exam. We take 3D CBCT images to map your jawbone in detail — bone density, nerve position, sinus location — so your implant plan is precise before we ever begin. We will also review your health history and discuss your goals.
Step 2: Personalized Treatment Planning
No two smiles are alike. Dr. Azim designs your implant plan around the number of missing teeth, your bone health, and your budget. This is also when we verify your PPO insurance benefits or walk through membership plan options, so there are no financial surprises.
Step 3: Implant Placement
The titanium implant post is placed into the jawbone. Most patients are surprised at how comfortable this is — the area is fully numbed, and the appointment is often shorter than expected. Many return to normal routines the next day.
Step 4: Healing and Osseointegration
Over the next few months, your bone fuses directly to the implant in a process called osseointegration. This is what makes implants so stable — they become part of your jaw. We monitor your healing with follow-up visits.
Step 5: Abutment Placement
Once healing is complete, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. This is the foundation your new crown will sit on.
Step 6: Your Custom Crown
Finally, your permanent crown — color-matched to your surrounding teeth — is secured. You walk out able to bite, chew, and smile with full confidence.
Need a Full Arch? Ask About All-On-4
If you are missing most or all of your upper or lower teeth, All-On-4 uses just four strategically placed implants to support a full arch of teeth — often with temporary teeth the same day. It is one of the most life-changing treatments we offer.
