Your First Visit to Paris Dental in Temecula

September 26, 2026 7 min readBy Dr. Noorullah Azim, DDS·Reviewed by Dr. Noorullah Azim, DDS

Nervous about a new dentist? Here is exactly what happens from the parking lot to the treatment plan — no surprises.

Walking In the Door

Most people are a little nervous before a first dental appointment, and honestly, that makes sense. You are trusting a stranger with your teeth. So let us take the mystery out of it. Here is exactly what happens when you come to Paris Dental for the first time, from the parking lot to the goodbye.

We are at 31285 Temecula Pkwy STE 205 — easy parking, easy to find. When you walk in, someone from our front desk will greet you by name. You will fill out a short health history form (or we can send it to you ahead of time so you can do it from your couch). That form matters: your medical history, medications, and allergies shape how we treat you safely.

The Pictures Come First

Before Dr. Azim examines you, we take X-rays and photos of your teeth. This is the part some people dread, but modern digital X-rays are fast and use very little radiation — far less than the old film kind. The photos help us show you what we see later, in plain view, instead of asking you to take our word for it.

If you bring recent X-rays from another office (less than a year old), we will usually use those and skip retaking them. No point in doubling up.

Meeting Dr. Azim

This is the part that surprises people. The exam is not a silent poke-around while you stare at the ceiling. Dr. Azim talks you through what he is checking — your teeth, your gums, your bite, the soft tissues of your mouth — and he shows you the X-rays and photos on a screen as he goes.

If something needs attention, you will see it too. We think that matters. It is hard to feel confident about a treatment plan when you never saw the problem with your own eyes.

The Treatment Plan (No Pressure, We Mean It)

After the exam, we sit down and lay it out: what is healthy, what needs watching, and what needs treatment — in order of priority. Not everything has to happen at once, and we will tell you honestly what is urgent and what can wait.

You will also hear real numbers. We do not do vague estimates that change at checkout. If you have insurance, we check your benefits and explain what is covered. If you do not, we talk through your options, including our membership plan. Then you decide. Some patients want to start treatment that same day, and we can often do that. Others want to think it over, and that is completely fine. The plan is yours.

A Few Practical Details

  • How long: about 60 to 90 minutes for a first visit.
  • What to bring: photo ID, insurance card if you have one, a list of your medications, and any recent X-rays from another dentist.
  • Language: our whole team speaks English and Spanish. Ask your questions in whichever language feels natural.
  • Kids and families: yes, we see the whole family. One trip for everyone is kind of the point.

The Part Nobody Tells You

Here is the truth: the hardest part of the first visit is making the appointment. Once you are in the chair, most people tell us some version of "that was way easier than I expected." We hear it so often it is basically our unofficial motto.

If it has been years since you have seen a dentist, you are not behind — you are just getting started. We do not lecture. We do not judge. We start where you are and build from there.

We are open Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Call (951) 577-8090 to book your first visit, or message us anytime at https://m.me/parisdentaltemecula. We will take good care of you — that is the whole job.

No damos sermones. No juzgamos.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a first visit take?▾
Plan on about 60 to 90 minutes. That gives us time for X-rays, a thorough exam, and a real conversation about your options — without rushing you out the door.
What should I bring to my first appointment?▾
Bring your photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications you take. If you have recent X-rays from another office, bring those too so we do not have to retake them.

What if I have not been to a dentist in years?▾
